The More We Get Together: All About Group Sessions

November 13, 2019 Kristal 0 Comments

Have a lot of friends? Want a photo with just your significant other? Play a sport and need a team photo? We're here to help! Our group sessions are the perfect mini session for groups of all sizes. Here's what you need to know:

Who can come: Anyone who wants a mini session with 2-15 people — you don't even have to be a student! If you happen to have more than 15 people, just let us know and we'll book you an extra long spot. Please note that group sessions at our mobile studio have a maximum of 8 people due to limited space.

Cost: $20 per person for one high-res download or $25 per person for four high-res downloads for the group. You can pay by cash, debit or credit.

Location: Group sessions are available at our studio at 353 West 7th Avenue in Vancouver on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. We also do on-location group sessions at different schools throughout the year. Click here to search your school's page and see if we are coming to you.

How it works: Once you arrive at our studio,  you and your friends will sign in. Please come at least 15 minutes early to allow enough time. The group session itself is about 10 minutes and you'll take at least 4 unique poses, depending on the size of your group.

How to get the photos: Once the photos are taken, we will send login details to the person who booked the appointment   we call them the group leader. The photos will be available to view within just a few days. It's up to the group leader to send the login details to the rest of the group. If you decide to order more photos later on, we have lots of print and digital packages available.

How to book: If you're a student at one of the schools we photograph, you can book here. If not, please get in touch with our customer service team here to make an appointment. You are welcome to book multiple appointments.

What to bring: You can definitely bring props, such as signs, trophies or even your favourite food. The general rule is if you wouldn't bring it to school, please don't bring it to our studio! We also have some props available for you to use, too.

The fine print: Each group member must be in all the photos. That means you won't be able to take different photos with different people in one appointment. All group sessions are final sale and digital images are non-refundable, transferrable or returnable. Digital download selections are final and can not be changed. It is up to the group leader to make sure the correct images are selected for the group.

We hope to see you and your crew in our studio soon! If you have any questions, feel free to leave us a comment below or get in touch with us here.

From our family to yours: Family Night Fundraisers

October 30, 2019 Kristal 0 Comments

As a family-run company, we know how important family is. We think family photos are some of the best keepsakes but know how hard it can be to get everyone together. This year, we're providing more Family Night fundraisers to schools in our community. This gives families a chance to get photos taken at an affordable price, plus help support the school all in one — 100% of the sitting fees go straight to the PAC. Here is everything you need to know about Family Night:

About the Session: Family Night sessions are for all members of the family, including pets! Each session will run approximately 15 minutes and you will take 8 unique poses. They can be formal, casual, silly or candid  whatever style you and your family prefer. Please note that the maximum number of people per session is 6 due to limited space.

Cost: The sitting fee is determined and collected by your school's PAC. Our focus is on taking the photos!

What to Bring: We will have lots of props for you to use but please feel free to bring your own.

How to Order: Once the photos are taken, we'll send you an email within 3-5 days with secure login details to access your private gallery. From there, you can preview all your images and create a custom order. As a thank you for participating and supporting the school, we will be providing a coupon* for a free 8x10 sheet (with minimum purchase) to each family we photograph! Here are just a few of the many products we offer just for Family Night sessions:
How to Book: All appointments can be booked on our website here. Once you search your school's name, select "Family Night", then enter your child's student number. (If you have more than one child enrolled at the school, you can pick your favourite!) Once you enter all your contact details, you can select your preferred date and time. Once the booking is confirmed, you'll receive a confirmation email and the PAC will contact you to collect the sitting fee.

Have more questions? Please get in touch with our customer service team by live chatting on our website, or send us an email at csr@artona.com.

Don't have Family Night at your school? If you're interested in starting Family Night fundraisers at your school, please reach out to us at insidesales@artona.com

*The minimum purchase required for the free 8x10 sheet is $29.99 before tax

How it Works: You must purchase a package on the day of to be photographed. We will have a dedicated customer service team member who will be taking orders. If you've already placed an order, you must bring the original package to be replaced with the new photo.

The Fine Print: All in-studio retake day photos will be sent to the school for the yearbook. However, we can not guarantee that the images will be included due to various deadlines. Students/parents must contact the yearbook team at the school to see if they can include the late photo.

All about Silent Night, our sensory-friendly graduation sessions

October 01, 2019 Kristal 0 Comments

It's important for us that all students feel comfortable coming in to our studios. We understand that getting photos taken might not be as fun for everyone and for those who are highly sensitive or who are feeling anxious, the experience can be overwhelming. Last year, we hosted our first Silent Night sessions to provide an accessible, sensory-friendly experience and it was a huge success! This year, we have added additional dates at multiple locations, making the experience even more accessible to students and their families.

Saturday, December 21, 2019 at JN Burnett Secondary in Richmond
Sunday, December 22, 2019 at Ecole Salish Secondary in Surrey
Saturday, January 4, 2020 at our main studio located at 353 West 7th Avenue, Vancouver

Cost: No additional fee required— just the $60 deposit like all graduation sessions.

About the Sessions: Appointments will run every hour, to allow more personalized time with our photographers, as well as reduced noise and strobe lighting in the studio. We will also have some quiet space reserved for breaks, if needed.

Who is it for: Any students or families with sensory concerns or anyone who finds the studio photography experience overwhelming is welcome.

How to book: By live chat here or by calling 604-872-7272

The 5 Things to Bring to Your Portrait Session

May 22, 2019 Artona 1 Comments

Your session is booked, you’re ready to go. But what do you need to bring? Here are 5 things you'll need:

1. The $60 deposit  This can be paid by cash, debit, credit or cheque.

2. Your outfit — We will provide the formal graduation cap and gown but you'll need to think about what you want to wear for your casual shots. You can read about our suggestions on what to wear here. You can also get changed at our studio in Vancouver  we have change stalls available and plenty of hangers so your outfit stays wrinkle free.

3. Props — This is a great way to personalize your portraits and keep them fun! We encourage you to bring anything that’s important to you and will remind you of your student years. Anything that represents your favourite class, activity or sport is welcome, as well as pets, instruments, books and even food! As long as it's appropriate and fits through the front door, you can bring it.

4. Family and/or friends — Taking your graduation photos is an exciting and memorable experience, so please feel free to bring along close family members and friends. A family or friendship photo is included in the session, too!

5. Any make up or other essentials — We don't offer makeup services, so please bring along any extra essentials you might need for touch ups.

Of course, the most important thing you need to bring is you and your authentic self. As a graduating student, your smile and sense of joy and pride are what matters most! We can't wait to see you in studio.

Have more questions? You can live chat with our online team here or send us an email at csr@artona.com
